February

We went to go visit Kent over a long weekend. We got there real late on Friday night. Uncle Kent read her bedtime stories. I put HK's pack-n-play in Kent's walk in closet. I'll never hear the end of it. His room gets super bright in the morning and I didn't want her waking up that early. It worked and nobody turned me in.

HK received a "Somebody in Eldorado, IL Loves Me" shirt. She also had a couple of other cute Valentine outfits. Her outfit that said "My First Valentine's Day" looks like capris instead of long pants. She was trying her hardest to crawl at Christmas and the weeks after that. She was in the push-up stance and rocking on all fours. She would scoot backwards across the room. She began crawling in January and was getting around good by February. She loved to crawl (or be chased) around the circle in our downstairs.

SNOW DAY!!!

We got a snow day on Valentine's Day! Daddy also took a snow day (haha). So we all three stayed home together, bundled up, and played in the snow. HK wasn't sure what to think at first. We put her in a clothes basket to serve as a sled. We also set her down in the snow and it came up to her waist. It was a fun day!!

We made it back to So IL the last weekend
in February to celebrate Dad's b'day and Nick's (Nate's youngest brother) b'day. Hallie Kate got to have fun with aunts and uncles on both sides of the family. You can see Uncle Noah trying to teach her a few things, and Grandpa Gray enjoying a few moments with the very active (but somewhat still at the moment) HK.

As HK begins to get more mobile, she begins to get more curious. She now likes to make her way to the bottom of the stairs to see what she can get into. Mommy better not leave her purse unzipped anymore. She has also learned how to open the bottom doors on the entertainment center to pull out her toys. She knows she can only open the one on the right (it has her toys in it). She also likes to pull up to the TV and try to turn it on. She is closing in on 9 months and is cruising and will take steps holding your hands.
